Piggy Paint

As a mom we are always looking for safe products for our children. My girls were always wanting to paint their nail with me and I was hesitant until I found a product that is non toxic, odorless and kid friendly. This nail polish was invented by a mother name Melanie Hurley when she found out the traditional polish she was using on her kids ate right through a foam plate.. Now that is a little scary especially since if you think about how many times our kids fingers end up in their mouth. The polish I am reviewing today is called piggy paint. It is non toxic, hypoallergenic, odorless,  eco friendly, and is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthatates, BPA, ethyl acetate and acetone. It is made of all natural ingredients and is made in the USA!!! Which for me is a major plus. My girls and I only tried the kids version of piggy paint but due to high demand they have also come out with a adult line with lots of fun colors. And the best thing is the adult version is safe to use during pregnancy. They also carry pet polish which i would love to try on my Pomeranian. As well as school spirit colors which I think is a awesome idea. They also have a neon line called Project earth which has some really pretty colors. Another neat product that they carry is Nail pens. They aren’t your normal art pens they are polish pens which make painting little fingers a lot easier. They also have nail art for little fingers and a cute little pedi set and some cute piggy paint t shirts. We tried Ice cream Dreams and mac and cheese… they were a one coat polish which i really like. the girls had me do a polka dot pattern they each had the opposite pattern. As its motto said it is safe as mud. As a mom I would recommend these to my friends and other people. you can order the kids paint at www. piggypaint.com They have alot of awesome colors.. I can’t wait to place a order to get the girls and myself some more colors of the nail polish and I really can’t wait to try the nail pens and pet polish.

Essie polish

I received my very first Essie in my polish of the month club box. The colors I received I were Turquoise& Caicos, Buy me a cameo and mod square. I was really impressed with the quality of the polish. It went on really smooth without clumping up or being super runny.I was even able to do designs with it because it was such an awesome concentration. I would definately recommend this brand of  polish to my friends. And after looking up the different  colors and price of the polish I was even more impressed because it was affordable for most people.  I will post pictures of my new colors tomorrow. I hope that if you haven’t tried Essie yet then you should go pick up a beautiful spring Essie color and see what you think..

Fun Nails on my 11 year old for her science fair

Last night was my 5th grader’s science fair. And after the science fair she was so proud that she made it to Districts that she asked me to do something fun with her nails. She said mom if I have cute nails then maybe I can make it to state. So we got to work on something fun for a 5th grader.

We started with China Glaze Turned up Turquoise, then did just her tips with Sally Hansen Air and we topped it off with Finger Paint Asylum which by the way is one of my favorite colors to use as a top coat.

Here are pics of the polishes we used.

Painting nails with my wonderful 11 year old daughter

Last night was my 5th grade daughter’s science fair.

First picture of her nails we took the picture against her turquoise blanket so it didn’t come out as well as we had hoped

Here is a close up of what we did with her fingernails

My daughter and I had a great time doing her nails. And I have to say that I love all of these polishes. The China Glaze went on so smoothly and I only had to do 2 coats of the China Glaze to get this look. Then we use Sally Hansen Air on the tips and it only took one coat of the Air to get this look. We then finished it up with Finger Paint Asylum. I love these brands and I highly recommend them..

My St Patty Mani.. and Review of polishes I used

In order to get into the Spirit of St Patrick’s day I decided to paint my nails with a St. Patty’s day theme this week.

I started with Pure Ice Free Spirit I love this color. The application was really smooth. After one coat the color was gorgeous. I did do a second coat just to bring out the gorgeous green color.

I added Asylum  finger paint as a top coat. The glitter in the paint made it sparkle and just a beautiful color. And it really sealed in the pure ice as a great top coat even though it wasn’t designed as a top coat.

I absolutely love both of these brands. And would recommend them to anyone looking for a 1-2 coat polish

Here is the final product hope you enjoy this color and blog.
